It's been a while since I've written a post. Sorry about that. Life has been crazy right? This morning I have been spending time reflecting on this whole Coronavirus situation.
There are so many schools of thought out there. Some believe we should absolutely be in isolation, others think we should still be allowed to gather together. Some believe the media is biased and outright lying to us, others believe everything they are being told. Some believe this is just a flu, others believe this is a deadly virus. And the conspiracy theories abound to no end. It is almost impossible to distinguish what the truth is.
No matter what side you are on, one thing is for sure, we are all in this together! The entire world has been brought to a halt.
All of this time off has allowed time for many video calls or phone conversations with friends and family. It's been great! But one thing that has become apparent to me is how differently we are all handling it.
I see a couple things happening in my community and I'm sure it's happening in yours as well. There are those who have rallied together and placed hearts or painted art on their windows, or those who are doing random acts of kindness like leaving surprises on neighbors steps or shoveling snow. The list of amazing people stepping up is long. It really warms the heart! And then on the other side of the coin are those hoarding supplies, being mean to others online and so much more. Personally I won't list the many horrors I have seen. Who needs to spend time thinking about that?!
My whole point to this is that this virus has either brought out the best in us or the worst in us.
I have been lucky enough to have experienced lots of beautiful moments and have tried to get out there and do my own random acts of kindness. But many have not had that same experience. Many are living in fear. Many are angry. And I understand why! This is all scary.
I think it's so incredibly important that we as a collective whole, treat others with love and kindness, no matter how they are coping with all of this. The more love we can shine during this time the better!
No matter where people are emotionally, where they are coming from, what view point they hold to, they deserve to be treated with respect. If we all made this our daily practice we would leave our small circles of influence better than we found them. Remember that love ALWAYS wins! Always! So let's put on a new mindset and shine our lights and love in this dark moment in history.
I pray God blesses you with the peace only he can give. Peace beyond all understanding ❤
