God Is Up To Something

Trusting in God when you don't see anything happening in your life is often a very difficult thing to do. He is always working though, even when it doesn't feel like it. Four years ago when I got healed from my Fibromyalgia and I was feeling so much better, one of the first things pressed upon my heart as I read scripture was that I needed to get back to work, to provide for myself and my children. I had been off work due to my illness for a few years so the prospect was both exciting and nerve wrecking! For over a year I kept hearing God say that He would bring me a job and to be patient. While I wanted to trust in that, I had people in my life asking how God could bring me a job if I wasn't looking. It was a valid question but one that I had no answer for. I would love to say that I waited patiently for this job to come about, but I didn't. There were a couple times that I applied for a job, thinking maybe I hadn't heard him correctly or perhaps it was a way to simply hedge my bets (so to speak). When I applied, I would hear a voice say "You won't hear anything back". And when I heard that, I never got a call back. This went on for quite a while and I finally made up my mind to wait on God and to see what would happen. I fully admit I waited nervously and impatiently at times. A few months after I had made that decision I woke up to an email from a man (whom I had never met), who published a morning newspaper in town, asking me if I wanted a job. He didn't ask me to send in a resume. He didn't ask if I wanted to come for an interview. It was a job offer. In my email! I have to admit that at first I wondered if it was spam or some sort of new scam. However after meeting up with him I found out he attended my church and I knew his daughter and that is how he got my name.

I started my job as his office manager the next week and three years later I am still working there. God brought me a job just as he said he would! Calling my family and friends that day was so fun! Seeing God's words to me come to pass was amazing.

My job has expanded and now I am creating ads, writing articles and maintaining all of our websites and social media, among many of my other duties. My boss and I have an excellent working relationship and he is very understanding of my needs as a single mom and foster parent. I thoroughly enjoy my job and I am so grateful that God had the perfect position lined up for me!

Waiting wasn't an easy thing to do but I am so glad that I did. As imperfect as I was in the process, God was still faithful. He is always faithful!

If you are waiting on God for something today, I encourage you to keep trusting in him even when it seems like nothing is happening. Hold on to the fact that when we are down to nothing, God is up to something!
